1992: First full-service provider
Founded in 1992, Securitas Direct is the first provider to open up access to all-in-one solutions for private individuals and SMEs. For the first time in Europe and Switzerland, Securitas Direct, a market pioneer, offers complete turnkey security solutions as a professional partner for consulting, installation, monitoring, intervention, support and maintenance.

1998: Strategic partnership with Zurich Insurances
Shortly before the turn of the millennium, Securitas Direct and Zurich Insurance decided to enter into a strategic partnership. A well-protected home or business can avoid or significantly reduce the cost of damage in the event of an incident. While Securitas Direct offers an optimum solution in terms of prevention and immediate action in the event of an incident, the insurance company supports the customer after the event. A win-win situation for all parties, and a successful alliance that has continued for over 20 years.

2000: First wireless systems
At the turn of the millennium, we launched the first wireless technologies for homes and businesses. Wireless solutions are much faster and more economical to install. They are the standard today.

2008: Video and smart solutions
In 2008, Securitas Direct launched the first camera-equipped home security system, making it much easier to contact the police. It's also the first home security system with Smart-Home functions. Another innovative feature is that video is only transmitted in the event of an alarm, using an encrypted protocol.

2010: First Do-it-yourself system
In 2010, Securitas Direct launched its first Do-It-Yourself solution, sold in over 2,500 post offices. This is the first alarm system that customers can install themselves from A to Z, and which offers a complete remote monitoring service.

2015 : Strategic partnership with Swisscom
Securitas Direct is working with Swisscom to launch a SmartLife solution that incorporates the latest technology to combine digital security and home automation.

2018: Migration to ALL IP
Replacement of all analog equipment with digital technology.

2020: Modernization of the mobile network
Migration of the entire portfolio to modern mobile transmission technologies.
